3 days of chaos at Darklands

After smashing it at the Folsoms last year, we knew that Darklands in Antwerp had to be on the plan for 2026. But we couldn’t have planned for how it went.

We had to start setting up shop with nothing to sell - because our shipments of stock hadn’t arrived. We (Lee) spent an hour on the phone in the lobby with our suitcases because our accommodation was inaccessible. At the stand, we discovered we were neighbors with one of the biggest stages and could barely hear each other. To top it off, that building was hotter than the sun, and there was no air con in the booth. We were all melting, all the time.

And you know what? It was fucking great.

For everyone except Troy, this was their first Darklands, and I don’t think it’ll be anybody’s last. The music was great. The booth was always full. We met loads of amazing new people, reconnected with terrible old people, and got the true blue Darklands experience. We were there for three days, and it felt like three minutes. We’re already thinking about next year.

It did weigh on us though. After cutting this one together, I think you can definitely see some delirium creep into this vlog as the days pass. Maybe that was the sweltering heat melting our brains. Maybe the fatigue. Maybe it was rising joy from the satisfaction of a hard day’s work.

My money’s on the heat.
